GUINNESS - ROBEL THE WHALE

August 10th 2016. The 100m freestyle heats at

the Rio Olympics. Lining up alongside athletes

with Greek God physiques, was Robel Kiros Habte, a swimmer from Ethiopia, dubbed unkindly but not unfairly 'Robel the Whale' for

the blubber around his midsection. Unmindful

of and unfazed by the sniggerers and trollers,

the man had come to compete. As it turned out, he didn't win much else besides hearts, but for Guinness whose strapline is 'Made of more', he was worthy of salute.
